The Battle of The Bar 2023

The Junior LSLA and LCLCBA are delighted to invite you to the inaugural Battle of the Bar!

 

In a first of its kind event, junior barristers will compete in a no holds barred* oratorical Battle Royale. The chosen few will trade verbal blows in their pursuit of taking home the prestigious crown of BotB Champion 2023.

What does this entail? Think educational seminar, but for the Hunger Games generation. Each barrister will come to the underground basement arena** equipped with a legal topic or update of their choice. It will be up to them to educate and enlighten you and the rest of the audience about their subject, and ultimately convince you that what they have chosen is more worthy of your attention than that of their competitors and that they are worthy of your adulation – an assessment that will be determined by a public vote.

Expect overblown statements, underhand tactics, and, most importantly of all, drinks, nibbles and good company!

We hope you can join us for what will be an entertaining (and educational) evening. The competition will run from approximately 6:30pm – 7:30pm, but all guests are encouraged to stick around for drinks, food and cross association networking into the evening.

 

Tickets are limited so make sure you secure yours fast so that you can say you were there when it all began…   

 

* Some holds may be barred.

**Technically we are underground, but it’s in the Trinity Bell’s “Gin Palace”. We haven’t gone full Fight Club.
