2022-3 Autumn Winter Lectures: From Wagatha to Google: Media law, defamation and big-ticket litigation
Wednesday 19 October 2022, at Hogan Lovells International LLP
“From Wagatha to Google: Media Law, defamation and big-ticket litigation”
Catrin Evans KC, Hugh Tomlinson KC, Anthony Hudson KC and Ian Helme of Matirx Chambers
Our speakers have acted in some of the biggest media and defamation cases of recent years, including not only headline-grabbing disputes involving the likes of Meghan Markle and Melania Trump (and who could forget ‘Wagatha Christie’), but also cases concerning the interaction of media and privacy law with high-profile litigation involving the likes of Google and ENRC. This talk will focus on learnings for commercial litigators from the world of media, privacy and defamation law.
Each lecture will begin at 6 p.m., and will last approximately one hour, which will include an opportunity for questions. The lectures will be followed by an opportunity for drinks and networking. Materials and, if practicable, a video recording will appear on the LSLA website after the event.
